4th Blog of this project 10-05-14

Hello, so this week, we have gotten to read the American text of "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" by Washington Irving. After reading just a bit of it i was set into the mood of the story. And through the entire reading all i wanted to do was to actually go to this area, because I want to see if all the descriptions are true. That is one of my biggest life goals, to travel around a lot of the world. So every time i read something that has such a good description, i just really want to go to the spot that was described. This also sounds like a very good place to farm, just the way it was described. This is reinforcement of what a lot of Dutch and Danish farmers did when they arrived to America, they would always pick the best farming spots, because they were used to the really bad dirt that was only good for growing potatoes and other vegetables. So I think that is why this Dutch settlement to me sounds like it is in a farming area, plus Dutch people are known for being good farmers.
